Privacy Policy — LendLog

Effective date: June 12, 2026

LendLog (“the app”) is a fully local Android application that helps you keep track of items you have lent to friends and family. This policy explains what data the app handles and — more importantly — what it does not.

The short version

LendLog does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device. The app has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and makes no network calls.

Data stored on your device

When you use LendLog, the following information is stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage:

We (the developer) never see, receive, or have access to any of this data.

Permissions the app requests

Permission Why it’s needed What happens with the data
Contacts Lets you pick a borrower from your contact list Only the selected contact’s name and phone number are saved, locally. Your contact list is never uploaded or scanned.
Camera Lets you photograph the item you’re lending Photos are saved in the app’s private storage on your device only.
Notifications Local reminders before and when a loan is due Reminders are scheduled on-device. No notification data leaves the phone.

All permissions are optional — the app remains usable if you decline them.

Backups

Payments

LendLog offers a one-time in-app purchase to unlock unlimited loans. The payment is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never receive or store your payment details. See Google Play’s Terms of Service and Google’s privacy policy for how Google handles payment data.

Data sharing

We do not share data with anyone, because we do not have any of your data. The optional “nudge” feature opens WhatsApp or your SMS app with a pre-filled message — sending it is entirely your action, from your own account, and is governed by those apps’ policies.

Data deletion

All app data lives on your device. To delete it:

  1. Delete individual loans inside the app, or
  2. Uninstall the app (removes the app’s private data), and
  3. Delete lendlog-backup.json from your Downloads folder if present, and
  4. Remove the app’s backup from your Google account backups if desired (Google account settings → device backups).

There is nothing to delete on our side — no servers, no copies.

Children

LendLog is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly handle data from children.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated here and the effective date revised. Material changes will be noted in the app’s update notes.
